Resolutions for 2010

Ok...so I've been lazy blogging. But who the hell cares.

Anyway, tomorrow depicts a brand new year with new resolutions. Oh yes!! I only have 3 resolutions this year. First, I'm going back to school next year to continue my training to become a teacher, so I will try my best to excel in my training and stand up tall again!! Secondly, simple....I will try my best to lose weight..I have only about 8 months (only!!) before I select my wedding costumes!! Thirdly, Year 2010 is the year which I'm going to tie the knot with my lover of 6 years!! Therefore, my resolution is to be able to carry out my grand dream wedding without any hiccups and after which, live happily ever after!! Hee...

Happy New Year everyone!!

His 24th Birthday Celebration

A photo taken during their family celebration on the actual day of both Hatta and Haikal's 24th birthday. Make a guess on who is who...:)

So...it's been awhile since I've updated. Anyways....we celebrated his birthday last Friday with many surprises. Started the day with a punctured tyre and ended the day with a hearty meal at the Flyers. Let the photos speak themselves:

Our black beauty got his tyre punctured and Hatta had to change
the tyre by himself, just when the day has just started.

We headed off to Safra Yishun for the first part of
his 24th Birthday celebration.

We had our lunch celebration at the Halal Jack's Place
chain of restaurant, named Eatzi.

The bill came up to 50+++ bucks...

After which we had 3 games of bowling at the
Orchid Bowl there...

I had him blindfolded and drove all the way to the CBD
area for a ride on the Singapore Flyer!!!

We camwhored inside, outside and everywhere
at the Flyers...

More camwhoring...

The view from up above...

We had a hearty meal at a restaurant at the Flyers and they
serve local and affordable delicacies! Halal too!

Talking about more photos..here's an overdue photo from the Standard Chartered Marathon which just passed....

More photos will be uploaded later of last night's FMC Technologies D&D.

Running for him, if not for myself...

Miss Liyana aka QueenLiyn, participated in 10km Women's Run of the Singapore Marathon 2009 together with her hubby, Hatta and his twin bro, Haikal who ran the full 42.125km run; Suria, who ran the 10km with her and Suria's boyfriend who ran the 10km Men's Run.

Despite putting on an extra 10lbs for the past 1 year, Miss Liyana managed to improve her timing by a few seconds!! Haha...but now, she feels like her body had been ran over by the bus and walking like a spastic. Running with Suria was fun anyway! Good to have company!! :)

Strolling into Town

So, yesterday, Hatta took leave to spend some quality time with me. Our first destination was supposed to be the renowned Hajjah Maimunah restaurant at Geylang for lunch but unfortunately, it's closed on Mondays. So, we headed off to Tanjong Katong Complex and had a hearty, yet scrumptious meal!

After which, we were off to Ngee Ann City in search for his 24th birthday present and finally, got a nice pair of golf shoes from Golf House there. We also managed to snap many photos with the Christmas Decoration there.

We made a pit-stop at Starbucks cafe to rest our aching feets from all the walking...

Then we went to Ion Orchard just in time for the revelation of "We are One" Singapore Lego Bricks.

Ok...I've not much to blog. Hope to start cooking again soon! =)

Torned in between

I'm looking through Singtel's online shop to choose what type of handphone I would want to change to. I'm like torn between either a touch screen phone or a keyboard phone. I'm also torned between a normal handphone and a smartphone. My choices are:-

I saw this HTC Diamond smartphone and it looks kind of classy and elegant....tempted but I'm still unsure...

But then I saw a more stylish phone with unique features from Sony Ericsson's Aino.

Or even the 3G Iphone....I don't know what I want ler...

Please help me make my choice yah..:)

Anyway....

SELAMAT HARI RAYA AIDILADHA TO ALL MY MUSLIM FRIENDS!!!!

Queenliyn is BACK!~

Aloha folks!~

I'm back from my looooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnggggggggggg hiatus. Sorry for that. It's expected from someone who is an aspiring career woman *rolls eyes*, what more when I'm married in the future with children keeping me 150% busier.

Anyways, I do enjoy blogging. I want to start blogging again that is. Many things have changed ever since I've started blogging since my early years in teenagehood and now, I'm almost in my mid-20s! But, let's start with updates first.

Firstly, after just stepping into the teaching career, I am finally accepted for admission into NIE next January onwards for my Postgraduate Diploma in Education! I'm kind of sad to leave Greenridge Secondary after creating bonds with the principals, teachers as well as students there. But well, life has to go on and hopefully, who knows, I'll return! Well, I'm kind of glad to get back to being a student again after almost 2 years of working, especially going back to NTU campus. However, I do not know what to expect from the PGDE course but I'm sure I'll always give my very best shot.. :)

Next, from my previous entry, I mentioned that my mom was hospitalised. Yes...it's true. The wonderwoman isn't that strong after all. She eventually collapsed last month, bed-riddened for 2 weeks before we sent her to the hospital and spent about 10 days staying there. I had to play "mother" for a month and trust me...not something which I enjoyed but nevertheless to say, it's still my responsibility. I also realized during that period of time, how much my mother meant to me although she loves to criticise me a lot. Makes me cry at times due to her criticisms but eventually, I still do care for her. Alhamdulillah, she's on the path to recovery now and really hope that there'll be good news during her next check-up.

Next, I'M GOING TO HAVE A SOLO WEDDING! Oh yes...you heard it right. After all that stupid times of struggling and begging, finally Allah granted my wish to have my own GRAND wedding! I'm halfway through my preparations. Already booked my Mak Andam, cameraman and deco/pelamin but have yet to decide on the wedding cake, wedding invitations, bride maids and not forgetting the most important thing for that day is my caterer!!! Going crazy but hopefully by end of this year, I'm set to step into Year 2010!!

Next, I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO in love with hubba hubba HUBBY! I used to always mention his name in my blogs but not here. Yes, thanks to Mr Mohammad Hatta bin Tubah for always being there for me through thick and thin, through rich & poor, through sickness and health *blah blah blah*...... I'm so looking forward to getting married. *grins widely*

Anyway, I have some photos to upload here for "display" which I took while me & Hatta went to service the car at JB on Monday. Car servicing wasn't my main focus here but it's the place called "Aeon Bukit Indah" which is an extraordinary mall with "extraordinary" features which I think will encourage my Muslim friends to visit the mall!

Our black beauty being serviced
(You can see Malaysian flag at the back
which shows that we are in M'sia)

He was being counting ringgit

We headed off to Aeon Bukit Indah and was greeted by Jusco Departmental Store

And surprise surprise...we have HALAL Shihlin Taiwan here.
Their XXL Crispy Chicken was uberlicious!

You can also find The Face Shop here.

As well as the renowned Starbucks.

And he just loves his toys....

And YES!! A HALAL Breadtalk too!

I bought a tray full of delicious bread from Breadtalk for my 1 week supply,
not forgetting that we almost bought the whole shop by buying 5 large boxes of
bread for our families!!

We then headed off to a Korean restaurant there,
the all too familiar BBQ chicken which
both of us love to eat in Singapore.

These are the appetizers, mushroom soup and ice lemon tea.

The look on our faces showed that we were gorging down the appetizers!
:P

I had Korean Charboiled Chicken with salad and Mushroom fried rice.

He had fried chicken with salad and mushroom fried rice.
(You can see that the specialty of BBQ Chicken is that they use
100% Olive Oil in their cooking! Healthy!~)

His face tells it all that he's full to his neck!!

That was his empty plates!!

The ambience was homely and comfortable.

But sadly, not many people patronise this restaurant!

Therefore, we would like to encourage all to head down to the BBQ Chicken outlets in Singapore to try their healthy food. Trust me, although it's quite pricey, but it's finger-licking good!!

Dear Mama...

Currently, my dearest mommy has been admitted to NUH for being critically ill for the past 3 weeks. Me and my dad have been going to and fro from the hospital to workplace and vice versa for the past 1 week. Kind of tired and exhausted.

Hopefully mama will recover and come back home soon. All the eating out is making me dry in the pocket and not forgetting the travel expenditure.

Now, I finally realize how empty my life is without my mother.

GSS Spectrum 2004

Last Friday, Greenridge Secondary School being the No. 1 Performing Arts School in the West Division, held it's 4th Spectrum Concert at the University Cultural Concert, NUS. Me and hubby embraced the glorious event with so much anticipation and excitement.

The concert started with the performance by the Chinese Orchestra followed by the Choir, Dance performances and ended with a SPECTACULAR Korean+Hollywood drama musical performance.

The following are some photos which I managed to take on that night:

NUS Concert Hall

Us @ Spectrum

Chinese Orchestra performed by fellow teachers

Choir Performance

Balinese Dance by fellow teachers

We almost fell asleep during the 15minutes intermission

Symphonic Band Performance

Mr Chui (DM) and Mr Steven Koh performing Evergreen songs

It ended like the Chinese Club Night!

Japanese Dance by the Dance Club

Drama musical inspired by Hairspray

Afterwhich, the "infamous F4" from the Korean drama
Boys Over Flowers came out!!

And the concert ended with a "BANG!" with the my favourite K-pop song,
Nobody by the Wondergirls!!

Yup...another one of my virgin experience as a teacher.

That's why I love my job now...and I'm going to NIE for my training next year January!!
